Fontana del Tritone is one of Rome’s most famous Baroque fountains, located in the heart of Piazza Barberini. Created by the renowned sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1642–1643, the fountain showcases the dramatic movement and theatrical style that made Baroque art famous.
At the centre stands Triton, the Greek sea god, rising from a large open shell supported by four dolphins. He blows through a conch shell, creating a striking and dynamic composition.
