Piazza della Repubblica

Piazza della Repubblica, Rome
Piazza della Repubblica is one of Rome’s most elegant and historic squares, located near Termini Station. Known for its distinctive curved colonnades and grand architecture, the piazza is a fascinating meeting point between ancient Roman history and modern city life.
At the centre stands the spectacular Fontana delle Naiadi, or Fountain of the Naiads. Created in the late 19th century, the fountain features four bronze naiads representing different forms of water, surrounding the central figure of Glaucus, a sea deity.
The square also sits beside the impressive Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the Martyrs, which was built into the remains of the ancient Baths of Diocletian. This makes Piazza della Repubblica an excellent starting point for discovering Rome’s ancient, artistic and architectural heritage.
